Stories that Start at Home

The Scottish Book Trust

We’re proud to support the Scottish Book Trust with a £4,000 grant from the Scottish Children’s Lottery to bring stories, songs, and rhymes into the homes that need them most.

Through their brilliant Bookbug for the Home programme, the charity works with families facing real challenges. This includes poverty, isolation, mental health struggles, addiction, and more and their efforts help parents and carers build confidence to share books and stories with their little ones.

With this funding, 1,000 family resource kits filled with books, finger puppets, stickers and more will be gifted to children across Scotland, creating magical moments of bonding, learning and joy, right in their living rooms.

Because the benefits of early stories go far beyond the page:

  • Stronger family connections
  • Better language and communication
  • A love of learning from the very start
  • A boost in confidence and wellbeing for parents and children

The Scottish Book Trust reaches over 1.4 million people every year with its mission to make reading and writing accessible for everyone, and we’re honoured to be a part of that journey.

To everyone who plays the Scottish Children’s Lottery, thank you. Your support helps turn pages into possibilities.
