South Ayrshire Befriending Project

We are delighted to award £4,000 to the Bfriend South Ayrshire, a charity that provides one-to-one befriending support for socially isolated young people aged 8-18 facing multiple disadvantages.

This funding will help the charity continue their incredible work, including:

  • Supporting 45 befriending matches annually to reduce social isolation and improve
  • Recruiting and training 15-20 new volunteers to become befrienders
  • Organising group activities like outdoor adventures, workshops, and youth group meetings that encourage skill-building and peer connection
  • Helping young people set and achieve personal goals, fostering confidence and resilience

By matching young people with dedicated befrienders, the charity creates trusted relationships that provide emotional support, practical guidance, and positive role modeling – vital for developing life skills and improving future opportunities.

A huge thank you to the players of Scottish Children’s Lottery – your support makes this essential work possible!
