Cutting Edge Theatre is one of Scotland’s leading small theatre companies based in Edinburgh and have won several awards for their inclusion work.
“My son has few opportunities to meet like-minded individuals who enjoy drama. When he was younger, he tried to join a drama group, but was often excluded because the group leaders didn’t know how to include him, or he was marginalised to minor roles with very brief stage appearances. Cutting Edge has put him and his friends front and centre”
With almost 30 years of history, they aim to make a difference in the lives of the people and communities they work with.
The Company believe that everyone should have equal access to the performing arts as audience members, participants, and professionals. The charity received a grant award of £7,500, made possible by those who play the Scottish Children’s Lottery, to support the cost of their 3-year training Young Company for learning disabled young people aged 18 – 25 in Edinburgh.
The Young Company meet weekly for training in acting, voice/singing, movement and acting for camera. They also can access theatre productions, workshops, talks and tours through their partnership with Capital Theatres
